Description:
The monument is a four-sided obelisk with a beveled base on a square plinth. It is made of Westerly Granite and is over ten feet tall. An inscription on the face of the obelisk honors the men and women of Charlestown who served in the armed forces in World War II, 1941-1945, and commemorates those who made the supreme sacrifice. Above the inscription there is a bas-relief representation of a World War II discharge button.
