Description:

Confucius (561-479 B. C.), an influential figure in Chinese cultural history, was a sage who taught principles of right conduct and government that have gained universal respect. In this heroic scale, bronze statue, he is represented as a teacher giving instruction. It is the work of an unknown Taiwanese artist, and is a gift to the Consolidated Benevolent Association of Boston from the government of Taiwan.
