Description:

The Reverend John Cotton (1584- 1652) was minister of the First Church in Boston from 1633 to 1652. The plaque, bearing a bas-relief portrait of Cotton by John Francis Paramino,  marks the site of Cotton’s house. Sir Henry Vane (1613-1662), Governor of Massachusetts from 1636 to 1637, also lived on the site. The plaque was placed by the City of Boston in 1930.
