Wind Wind Wind
Michio Ihara's kinetic sculptures are based on modular combinations of single shapes repeated throughout the sculpture. Each smaller shape builds upon itself to evoke a sense of fluidity and lightness that works within a given space. The artist's ultimate goal is to create a harmonious connection between his sculptures and the surrounding environment. This sculpture, called Wind Wind Wind, was originally installed at the Wellesley Office Park in 1973. It was removed, cleaned and renovated and will be completely installed by Equity Office Property in the outdoor plaza behind 60 State Street in early January.
